Book Title-
Book Name- A Woman Unparalleled
Author- Preet Sandhu
Genre- Self Helf/ Motivational
Publication- Invincible Publishers

Blurb- As a businesswoman, I have gone through several phases and have done much learning and unlearning to reach where I am today. As per my understanding, writing involves a deep understanding of life experiences and teachings. In this book, I have penned down all my experiences to light up the way for others in their journey.
This book will contain everything starting from motivation, to information to experiences. This book will issue some of the major problems that we face today not only in our professional lives but also in our personal lives. While reading this book, readers will learn three paths of life, i.e. the paths of Identification, Realization & Implication.

Review- Reading this book on the eve of Christmas made this book even more special. This book is life journey of Preet and how beautifully she drew instances from her life and projected in the form of this book.

This book isn't the kind of self help book which we all are used to read but this one's quiet different in a positive way. Author talks about ups and downs, the struggles and how to solve them while conquering over our fears.

Language used by author is simple and book reads smoothly. This one's a small read so you can finish it off within 3 hours.

I'll suggest this book to people who want to read something positive and inspiring.

Book Review- The Alpha Yeti by SUM

Book Details-
Book Name- The Alpha Yeti
Author- SUM
Genre- Fiction
Publication- AuthorHouse
Pages- 215 pages

Blurb- Every tribal land has its own tribulations and the Kasis were way beyond any hope or help, for what they were undergoing was terrifyingly unspeakable. It wasnt any myth or taboo. This one was true. The One God was as real as the White Giants. But, all the suffering and trepidation came from the impossibly aggressive Grey Giants. They were a deformity: a fallen imprecation on the Kasis. Somehow, a sensible Bhirendi, the elderly last of the Kasis, addresses the tragedy and rushes his people into the underground chambers of Ravaial before they are forced to face the wrath of the monstrosities that lately have begun to roll down from the White Mountain. With the situation only getting worse by the moment, the tribes hire a pack of ace hunters from the West. But, one of them freaks out and abducts the daughter of an estranged but once-upon-a-time famous hunter to only earn his ire. The hunters are drawn together into a strangely unwelcome land of doom with their fates sealed under the White Mountain. They soon realise that time is all they have left in the entire world when the Grey Giants begin their vicious play. SUM brings to you, The Alpha Yeti!

Review- The Alpha Yeti is the fantasy thriller novel by SUM and is enthralling story.

Book Cover and Title- Book Cover is beautiful. I loved the use of black and red colour to signify Yama. Book title is interestingly confusing in positive way. Overall Book Title and Cover are catchy and demands the attention of reader.

Language- Language is lucid. Font used for chapters is too cursive. Narration of the book is commendable and hooks the reader with the story.

Storyline and Plot- Storyline and plot is beautifully planned. Twists and turns in the book makes it un-put-downable. There were minor loopholes with the storyline but does not affect the suspense and mystery. Characters were justified properly.

Story is fast paced in some and slow paced in some chapters. Typing mistakes should be considered in 2nd edition of the book.

Blurb- The year is 2020.

While New Delhi deliberates on commensurate retaliation to Beijing’s actions, a series of events across the globe pushes the world to the brink of war.

A high-profile assassination in Israel stirs up emotions in the Middle East, and the Arab armies form an alliance united by the rallying calls of jihad: to conquer the holy land, once again.

The public execution of a CIA agent in North Korea brings the gargantuan navies of US and China to a terrifying stalemate in the Sea of Japan, while the world watches in horror as hopes for human survival and global markets dwindle into oblivion.

Amidst all this, Lama, the influential leader of Tibet, finds himself in a political pickle, and sways towards Beijing, the mightier side, in the event of an Indo-China conflict. So does Pakistan, China’s all weather friend.

With the possibility of war on both fronts, as the struggle for dominance on Tibet brings the dragon to India’s doorstep, the tiger prepares for yet another showdown with the dragon.

Six decades after the Indo-China war of 1962, will the tiger be able to turn the tide and douse the dragon’s fire?

Who shall fire the first shot and who is actually calling the shots? Only time will tell.

Witness a tale untold and immerse yourself in a world of moves and countermoves, where there’s no distinction between black and white. Where every piece has a role to play but their loyalties are not a function of their colour. Where the only thing that truly matters is who gets to call CHECKMATE.

Review-

When the Cheif fell in Love  is a love story blended with suspense and thriller to bind the readers with the book. Author has done amazing job with narration and characterization. Though certain loopholes, the book is still an enjoyable read.

Book Cover and Title- Book Cover is eye pleasing and soothing and goes well with the content of the book. The mountains and snow covered land with blood stains gives us slight hint about Kashmir, love story with dash of obstacles.

Title is very interesting and catches attention of readers. It creates curiosity about the book. Blurb too is exciting.

Calibrating itself to the turning of the mind’s endlessly churning machinery, this novel gives one the rare opportunity to see it at work. Life affirming and inspiring, this is at the same time a journey that navigates through the loneliness, heartbreak and intensity of Amrita’s approach to life.

Intimate, forceful and raw, Borderline is the catharsis we all need.

Book Review- Men and Dreams In The Dhauladhar by Kochery Shibu

Book Details-
Book Name- Men and Dreams In The Dhauladhar
Author- Kochery C. Shibu
Genre- Fiction
Publisher- Niyogi Books
Pages- 284 pages

Blurb- A hydelpower project in the remote Himalayas. Three people brought together by fate. Nanda, an engineer from Kerala at the dam construction site hiding from his past, from the law, torn between the love of his dear ones and the traditional kalari code of revenge. Khusru, a boy displaced from his native village in Kashmir, a gambit in the terror plot threatening to blow up the dam, working as a labourer at the site. Rekha, a Kathak dancer in heart, a doctor by profession, arrives at the campsite as the consort of Khusru. A village that accepts the dictates of modernity with a heavy heart, its population steeped in superstitions and religious beliefs.

All throng the campsite like moths to a flame, some escape untouched, successful; some, miss a step, and perish. Each has a story to tell and a dream to realise. Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar is about the aspirations of these people with their cares and worries woven into the site life. The fury of nature and the hardships of project life have no mercy for the weak and no time for the dead. Like an eternal spectator the Dhauladhar watches as men risk life and limb in a quest to fulfill their dreams.

Review- Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar is a book with unique plot and story. It attracts your attention from the start but gets monotonous after 100 pages and becomes an average read.

Book Cover and Title- From the cover, book seems to be historical/scientific fiction but this is purely modern age book. Blurb is short, crisp and it creates curiosity about the book. Title is appropriate.

Language and Narration- Language of the book is lucid and easy to comprehend. Writing style of author is simple and easy to follow.  Book is written in third person narrative.
Though there are no grammatical errors in the book.

Characterization- I absolutely loved how author portrayed his characters. Characterization is one of the reason why I completed this book even with too derailed technicality, monotonous story and show paced narration.

Another thing which I liked about this book is all the characters are justified properly with their own story and set of emotions.

Storyline and Plot- Story revolves around Dhauladhar Dam, and characters revolving around Dam, Dhauladhar and construction of Damn. Author has beautifully placed scenes in various places to bind characters with main story.

However, too detailed technicality about various stages of Dam Construction is what bugged me the book. Author could have cut-shorted the book by skipping detailed technicality which adds nothing to the main plot.

Likes- 1. Characterization.
2. Language and Narration
3. Subplots revolving around main central plot.

Dislikes- 1. Story seems monotonous and boring in the middle.

Rating-
Book Cover and Title- 4/5
Language and Narration- 3.5/5
Characterization- 4/5
Storyline and Plot- 2./5

Final Rating- 3/5
