Book Review of I Cud Hav Had 17... But I Chose to Have 19 Chapters by Ashutosh Srivastava

Book Name- I Cud Hav Had 17... But I Chose to Have 19 Chapters
Author Name-  Ashutosh Srivastava
Publisher- Notion Press
Pages- 285
Price- ₹299

BLURB- This is the story of a person who met a lot of temporary people in his life

If you meet a girl in a new place, be it a college, a coaching centre, a train, an office or any other place, and if you find her beautiful, you will definitely try to approach her. You will, maybe, send her a friend request on Facebook. She might accept your request or she might not. But, one thing is quite definite, that she will visit your profile for sure.

This is us; this is human psychology or just the mentality that we have developed over the years.

It's a story of a person meeting different girls with whom he could have had some chemistry, but there was always some or the other 'but'. He had some good features, but his bad ones outnumbered the good. He did some magic, due to which he was able to change his life. Being overweight for him was among his major tensions. However, he lost 30 kgs of weight in six months, and consequently, the people who used to hate him started liking him. The gym freaks are often considered as dumb and writers are often considered as genius. He acted of being both.

REVIEW- This is the debut novel by Ashutosh Srivastava and as a debutant author has done quiet good job. Author has brilliant narrating skills which makes the book page turning.

Book Title and Cover- Book Title is suitable to the storyline and so is the Book Cover. Book Title is catchy which gains the attention of the readers.

Language- Language is simple and  easily understandable but attractive. Even the new readers can find the book easy to read.

Narration- To be honest, i read the book in one go because of the narration. Author has amazing narrating skills which hooked me till the end. Some one liners are given, which were making book interesting.

Storyline and Plot- Storyline and Plot is strong. It is the journey of Rudra, the main character from childhood to his graduation and becoming a writer and how he remained single all this time.
Author has penned down some brilliant things which we all have experienced and this makes reading interesting.

There are  fewer technical problems which are very minor and can be ignored. Few more one liners would make the story more interesting.
Also author has added 2 chapters which can inspire you to do what you love and to do what you think you cannot do.

ABOUT THE BOOK
4000 years was a long time but not for someone who was brooding in revenge.
Two kingdoms, Chaturanga and Sarprakt, separated by a mystic mountain range are at war with each other since ages. Chaturanga, ruled by King Viratha, is soon bestowed with a dynamic heir, and the whole kingdom is drowned in rituals and festivity. On the other side, Sarprakt is executing a cruel conspiracy. King Viratha, crippled by the conspiracy, urges the mysterious man of the mountain to devise a method to recreate the conspiracy and that gave birth to ‘The Game of Chess’.
***
Serial killings shock the nation as the police are rendered clueless. The killer leaves behind a trail of chess pieces with a strange message. Random people are murdered. Connoisseurs of different fields – History, Chess and the Security forces – have united as the next intended victim is the most powerful person of the country.

How is Chess involved in the whole scenario? How will they find a man who died 4000 years ago? Can a person defy the laws of nature? Does history really repeat itself? Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
Let the game begin!

Book Review- The Justified Sin by Harpreet Makkar

Book Name- The Justified Sin
Author Name- Harpreet Makkar
Genre- Romance Fiction
Pages- 200

Review- This is the debut novel of the Author, Harpreet Makkar and as a debutant he has done quiet good job. Author has good narrating skills which keeps the reader hooked till the end

Book Title and Cover- Book Title is catchy but after reading the title reader may feel its a crime thriller also book cover is good but nowhere matches with the storyline.

Language- Language is simple but attractive and easily understandable. Even the new readers will find it easy to read.

Narration- Author has good narrative skills, this is the reason i was turning pages after pages and read the book in one go. Storyline and plot of the book is strong. Author succeeded to penned down the emotions of the protagonist which i am sure every guy has experienced once in the life time. Friendship between Saloni and Jay, the initiation of Jay and Prachi's relation, relation between Jay and his dad were written beautifully.

Character- Characters are Jaydeep Saloni Prachi Varsha Shaurya  Jay's dad and other family members.
Characters were given the fair amount of importance, however Jay's father who always supports him and never says no to anything was unrealistic and filmy.

There are few technical problems in the novel and reader keep missing the quotes in the book. Ending was not that perfect, i wanted to feel the ending but author ended up early and i kept missing ending even after the end.

Ratings-

Language Justification- 4/5
Character Justification- 4/5

BLURB-
“Frustrated with their current jobs, Uday, Adhyayan, and Rajasekaran team up to start an innovative business, non-existent in India until then. Ignoring all pragmatic aspects of life, they chase their dreams with immense pleasure. However, their journey is no cakewalk, as they confront financial crisis and rejections soon. Uday plays a business trick to triumph over that uninfluenced market; it works initially, but soon boomerangs, blowing the team apart. The police arrests Uday accusing him of illegal activity by his organization.

Were there any blemishes in their plan or was it just a typical Indian market, reluctant to accept an un-experimented concept? Will they be successful in implementing their innovation, staking their hard earned money, stable jobs, relationships, and life?

‘S.O.A.R is the story of chasing a dream, quandary between desire and responsibility, friendship and love.

Join the gutsy journey of three young entrepreneurs. ”

REVIEW- S.O.A.R is the one of the best book i have read recently. A book with perfect title (it couldn't have been better) and plot. Abir has the great ability to narrate a story.

Language is lucid and simple, though it is simple, book has best dialogues wherever required. Though there are some tamil and bengali words without their meaning given but it is overcome by the strong storyline and pace. Character's are justified well, with the perfect happy ending.

There are some errors in punctuation and spelling which are unavoidable. Blurb should have been shortened as it reveals the suspence.
